Busy Week

We have had a very busy week this week preparing for the upcoming Member/Guest tournament here at Creekmoor. We received about .2" of rain overnight. Golf course conditions are a little damp, but not too bad. We have been working on keeping the rough and green banks mowed down as much as possible. It has been a challenge with the cool damp conditions we have been facing. Although you won't hear me complain about 7o degree days at the end of August. We also are working on getting all bunker edges weed eated and edged to give them a nice clean look. The greens were double cut and rolled today. For the rest of today we will hopefully be finishing up on some small detail items and then will get into full tournament mode tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a nice week and and are all getting ready for the weekend. We are looking forward to the event and hope everyone and their guest enjoy the golf course.

  1. Hi Todd,
Can you tell me why there is a track around the top of the sand in the bunkers? My ball always seems to stop in it and the only way to hit out of it is to follow the line of the track.

    Thanks,
    Marty Carl

  2. Marty-

Thanks for the question. However I don't know what you exactly mean by track? Is it a tire track or a track from my crew raking the edges? If it is a tire track then that means my staff isn't raking the bunkers properly and raking the edges all the way down to where the sand pro rakes the bottom of the bunker. If it is rake tracks then we need to do a better job of making sure the bunker edges are raked properly. Thanks again for your comments.
