Morning Photos

I have been asked by several people why there are some thin areas in the zoysia on #8 fairway. The main reason this area struggled coming out of the spring is due to the fact it is in the low and it gets a lot of runoff from the surrounding areas above the golf hole. Another one of the reasons the zoysia has struggled in this area is from lack of sunshine and heat. It was set back originally by the moisture and cold temperatures in the winter and then recovery has been rather slow due to the shade.
Here is a picture of one of the bridges that we staind this week. We hope to have all the others completed by next week.
An early morning photo of #1 green on Friday.

  1. Todd, the bridges look great. I noticed them when we were playing this weekend.

The bridge between 7 and 8 still has some pretty steep bump ups and drop downs. Will you be doing anything different there?

    Thanks, Sandy Dolence

  2. Sandy, The bridge is bumpy due to the concrete cart path on each side of the bridge settling. We have helped the situation out a bunch by stacking some concrete bags under the paths and by pouring some concrete around the wing walls of the bridge. The water in the creek gets to moving rather rapidly when we get good rains. This has caused the water to get under the bridge and the cart paths and thus causing the concrete to sink. As you can imagine trying not interrupt play and the expense we have tried to do the best to help the issue as much as we can at this time. I installed the boards to try and help absorb the bump a little better. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for your comments.
